Hitchcock in 2012

So beautiful, shot by Willy Vanderperre.

Looked like an after bar/bat mitzfah party, bunch of young girls looking very try hard, miniskirts cut so short they looked like thick belts, where are your pants ladies? Clickity-click-y.

Let me get on that, thank you.

Walking down and up park ave (I think) with my friend many nights ago. She lives right off Park. Beautiful street!
I am happy to have friends that alert me to things that pop up on tumblrs. Usually I don’t keep up with anything, and I especially don’t read many fashion blogs anymore. Got my favorites, and I will never forget them.
Anyway, this girl ‘Ramou‘ has an entertaining tumblr. She posted about something I did recently and for some reason, I read through her tumblr, it was compelling. If it was boring I wouldn’t have read it, but it was fun/funny. She loves Watch the Throne, and I guess she and I agree that Ni**as in Paris isn’t the best song on the album. She likes Murder to Excellence, yes, great song, I love Who Gon Stop Me, my favorite right now. Strange how this album’s been out for a while but I am still blasting in my car on repeat. Watch the Throne is going to be classic, like Wu Tang’s 36 chambers, Nas’s Illmatic, or Biggie’s Ready to Die. But wait, are you saying I’m ridiculous in a good or bad way? I hope you approve…

Back to her tumblr, a whiskey quote captured my attention immediately.

Quoting Camus? Could it get any better?

Sorry. I couldn’t help myself. I love this video, love the song too. I know nothing exciting is happening in the video, but I am a sucker for any night driving scenes..highways, car lights… and…. Maybachs– add Rick Ross and Drake all decked out in black and I’m sold. Let’s not forget that Rick Ross is looking quite slim in his leather jacket. So gratuitous.
Wow, this is all soooo 2006!

Kraftwerk is everything.

The album above is gold, interpol’s best I think, nearly every single song is good. Interpol and college years, way too weird to listen to all this and not get nostalgic. The kraftwerk album is not the best one, but I like the album cover!

Ah, look at this setup! This reader was inspired by my egg in a hole recipe, and posted her version on the Luxirare facebook wall. This is why I love technology and the internet. Yes so many bad sides to technology but so worth it for things like this. Allows us to share such things very quickly and efficiently. Miss Sharon, you did a beautiful job!

Last night I tried out this new sushi place with some friends despite my reservations about sushi/sashimi in NYC, in general I find most places below par (except for Jewel Bako and MASA) and OMEN was….mediocre…mediocre is synonymous to bad for me… Couldn’t even understand how all the tables were booked. Thank god the company was stellar, otherwise this dinner would have been pulling teeth.
Let’s also discuss the fact that they serve prix fixe dinners here starting at $85 and they are a cash only/AMEX joint. What? As far as I’m concerned if you’re going to charge you better be open to Visas and such. I understand if you don’t like Discover, but co’on! And honestly, the only place in NYC that is allowed to go cash only is SPAIN.
But things looked up the second half of the night, right across the street (literally 2 steps away) was Milady’s, possibly no..the best bar in Soho. We ordered Mozzarella sticks, tater tots, and chicken fingers. Delicious.

Yes, saw the Bodyguard over the last couple of days. Saw it many times when I was younger. The sexual tension between Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner is …. well …. Makes you wonder how they didn’t become a couple in real life?
RIP Whitney. Before there was Rihanna and Beyonce, there was you of course!

…perfection…

(both images via Google search, ha)
I prefer candids than her in editorials. She looks better in real life than she does in magazines. It’s too challenging to find candids of her where she doesn’t look chic. I feel kind of happy that she and I share the same birthday, Jan 16, not that it means anything.
A young Al Pacino, how amazing is the acting in the first video with the young Diane Keaton (love her…!)?, if you look up the word Charisma in a dictionary, you really only need the names of three men to show up right? Al Pacino, John F. Kennedy, and Dustin Hoffman.
“I know it was you Fredo, you broke my heart..you broke my heart…..”

You will be on my feet shortly. Just can’t choose which colorway. I’m thinking the first version is better.
